2027 Chicago National Qualifier
Join us for the 2027 Chicago National Qualifier, an exciting USA Karate sanctioned event bringing athletes together from across the country for a full day of competition in Grayslake, Illinois.
Open to competitors ages 5 and up, the tournament will feature Individual Kata, Individual Kumite, Team Kata, Team Kumite, and Para Kata divisions for a wide range of ages and experience levels.
This event is designed as an important step on the competitive pathway to Nationals while remaining welcoming and accessible to athletes from across the United States. Competitors do not need to place in order to participate in the qualifying process, making this a great opportunity for both developing and experienced athletes to compete, gain experience, and continue progressing toward national-level competition.
The event will take place on Saturday, March 6, 2027 at the College of Lake County – Building F Sports Complex in Gurnee.
Tournament highlights include:- Individual and team Kata and Kumite divisions
- Beginner through Elite competition levels
- Awards for individual and team competitors
- $500 first-place cash prizes in the 16+ Male and Female Open Kumite categories, with a minimum of eight registered athletes per category
- USA Karate sanctioned competition
